SPRING WEBINAR SERIES
The Spring Webinar Series is now presented by Behavioral Healthcare Learning Collective (BHLC). This transition marks an exciting new chapter, continuing our commitment to providing valuable, high-quality learning opportunities for Oregon's behavioral health community.
Since its launch in 2020, the Spring Webinar Series has served as a trusted virtual platform for delivering engaging and accessible training to peers, leadership, HR, and clinical staff from OCBH member organizations and partners across the state. Each year, the series brings together professionals dedicated to advancing their skills, strengthening their teams, and staying informed on key developments within the behavioral health field.
Now reaching more than 300 participants annually, the series has awarded over 2,500 Continuing Education Credits and continues to offer timely insights into system updates, emerging best practices, and significant legislative changes shaping the industry.

MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID
Mental Health First Aid (Adult - MHFA) teaches you how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among adults. Participants will learn common signs and symptoms of mental health and substance use challenges, how to interact with a person in crisis, and how to connect a person to appropriate resources.
The course will teach you how to apply the MHFA Action Plan (ALGEE):
Assess for risk of suicide or harm.
Listen nonjudgmentally.
Give reassurance and information.
Encourage appropriate professional help.
Encourage self-help and other support strategies.
The cost to participate in MHFA training is $120. This cost covers the course materials, technology requirements, and staffing costs for BHLC. CEUs from MHACBO are awarded through BHLC for Behavioral Health professionals. Please email Heather Ray with inquiries about other possible continuing education credits: ray.h@ocbh.org
Heather Ray and Quiona Salanic are the trainers, and they started their partnership in training in December 2024. Quiona is the OCBH Bilingual Project Coordinator and works with the Latino community. Heather is the Director of Projects for OCBH and is active in her community with PTA and coaching. Together, Quiona and Heather hope to increase the number of adults trained to help youth in our region and beyond who may be suffering from mental health or substance use challenges.
